**This is a Shared Duplex-style functionality custom home** Please note this custom log home has a duplex functionality to it, with the main portion of the home open and private to guests, with their own separate private entrance. One wing of the home is used as the owner's walled-off and insulated quarters, which are accessed via a separate exterior entry door on the opposite side of the home. The owner may be residing there during your stay, but will fully respect your privacy and peace with little to no interaction besides a quick welcome hello or passing in the driveway, as there would be in any duplex housing scenario. There are no shared living spaces, ensuring the privacy of renters. The owner will not enter the main portion of the home used by guests, except for emergencies/safety. Please refer to the house blueprints shaded green/red (in the photos section), which depicts the house layout. The owner may be in the Adirondacks at this time of year and may be staying in the owner's/inlaw apartment section, but if he's gone then the complete property privacy should be considered an added free bonus. In 2013 the owner built a smaller log 2 bedroom chalet in Wilmington intended as a residence but turned into a full time vacation rental home (HomeAway/VRBO listing #3651607), this home is a hybrid solution to financing a new home and have a residence also. The owner Johnathan Esper is very well known and regarded throughout the Adirondack region through his landscape photography of the Adirondacks, as well as community ties, and has no criminal background. When there are known periods the owner is away in international travels, the pricing structure may automatically increase by ~10% to reflect the additional absolute privacy of the home and surrounding property.

Under some circumstances, the owner's apartment section totaling about 700 sq ft with additional bedroom, kitchen, bath, living room, log spiral staircase, and balcony) may be requested to be rented and opened up to the entire home to be included in the rental, which would incur an extra nightly surcharge of $150/night, at owner's discretion.

The owner loves the Adirondacks and log home living, having grown up in a family log home in the Adirondacks, and then building a log chalet overlooking Whiteface and the Ausable River in Wilmington, which is now a popular vacation rental fully booked year round. HomeAway listing #3651607. This Adirondack log lodge style home is now the 3rd, and has been custom designed entirely by the owner to maximize the forested hilltop views and location and incorporates all the best features learned from a lifetime of log home living and also photographing many premier Adirondack properties.

Please thoroughly read through the attached rental agreement, to familiarize yourself with the house policies and rules, which include no shoes worn in the home, no smoking around the home, not leaving any egregious messes, safety with fire and watercraft, respecting the grounds, and other common sense policies. Perfect luxury home with fabulous views near Lake Placid

This was an unbelievable home! So comfortable and had more than everything we needed for a lovely long weekend. Of course the perfect weather added to our enjoyment. But some how I doubt I would have been disappointed if it had rained all day forcing me to curl up on the couch in front of the fire place to read a book. Maybe next time! 09/03/2019 at 1:24 AM

Very spacious with great view

There is a ton of space inside. The owner provided lots of helpful information before we came. Even though he is next door, we still felt like we had privacy. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed (including things like olive oil, flour, salt, pepper, etc.), hot tub worked, fire places were easy to use. It was great that we could bring our dog too. We would stay here again! 09/11/2019 at 2:35 PM

A spectacular vacation home

The house is gorgeous. It is a new home that was carefully planned out to perfection. The family room is open and has large windows with a stunning view of the mountains. The home is spacious and bright and has every amenity one may want or need. The beds and bedding are very comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and loaded with all the relevant supplies for cooking (pots, pans, coffee pot, tea pot, Keurig machine, etc) as well as nice dishes and glassware. It was very nice to go out for dinner and experience the town as well as cook several meals at the home. Sunsets were gorgeous and the home has an outstanding outside deck with plenty of seating to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. There is a basement with a large 55 inch TV with access to netflix as well as boards games and other games (ping pong). Jonathan, the owner of the home was a superb host. Upon arrival he gave us a tour of house and explained the workings of the house. Jonathan was always accessible to us for questions or suggestions yet he completely gave us our personal space. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was ideal, which it was. The home is very close to the center of Lake Placid and close to all of the activities and restaurants. The location was great for us to balance being very busy with activities in town (hiking, biking, shopping) and being able to relax at this beautiful house. We recommend this property 100%.

ADK log home heaven

We absolutely loved our stay in this property, perfect location to Lake Placid, with enough seclusion to feel like you are in the wilderness. Hope to stay there again next year!

Enjoyed our stay

We had a nice stay. The place worked well for our 3 generation family trip. The owner was courteous and pleasant. We really enjoyed the outdoor space, including the hot tub, fire pit and the hammock. The driveway is steep but we managed fine in our minivan. It was close to town and many hikes but quiet and peaceful. It is a new build and there was some construction material around but it didn’t interfere with our stay at all. Overall we had a wonderful time.

A home with a view that can’t be beat

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at this Lake Placid home. Johnathan was a wonderful host who responded promptly to each question prior to and after booking. The home was well equipped with anything you might need from the kitchen to the basement game room, as well as equipment for the kayaks/canoes. There was plenty of room for our group, consisting of three families and a dog. The living space is spacious with plenty of beds. The kids loved the downstairs bunk area and game room. The views from the outdoor deck cannot be matched. Perfect for a morning cup of coffee or evening nightcap. There was plenty of firewood available for our nightly campfires. The views of the night sky were amazing too. The location is perfect whether climbing a peak, visiting the Olympic sites , or taking a stroll through town. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back again next summer! 08/31/2019 at 8:45 PM

The property was perfect!

We rented the property while I was in Lake Placid to do the Ironman. It was a beautiful cabin with incredible finishes and so conveniently located to the race and expo. Very clean and well kept. Had ever we needed.

Beautiful home, perfect location

The house has all the lovely cabin touches. Beds are big and comfy. There was more than enough room for 6 adults. It's very warm and welcoming. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond. Being only a few miles from Lake Placid was ideal for us. Close enough to town but out enough to be peaceful and what a view!
